Sheepdog Protective Services has one of the most technologically advanced personal safety apps in Pennsylvania. It is this technology that sets Sheepdog apart from other businesses within the industry.
Completely cloud-based, this app provides clients, security officers, and dispatchers with the ability to report incidents and send the appropriate resources to each call for service. The app also has the ability to send live streaming, one-way video feed to an on-duty dispatcher while automatically storing the video for future reference. Clients have the ability to choose one of two functions while utilizing the personal safety app. The first client profile is called the “SOS” profile. This profile allows clients to send a distress signal from their phone that also pings their exact location. When the client activates an “SOS” distress call, officers on duty automatically receive the signal on their mobile device and can immediately respond to the client’s needs. In addition to this capability, the second client option also has full reporting capabilities. Clients can send alerts and updates to the officer-on-duty who is patrolling their contracted site and even prioritize the officer’s response to different issues. Any information received via Sheepdog’s reporting/response app is time stamped and labeled with a specific incident report number (IR#). This IR# can be distributed to the client as soon as the incident is reported and filed by a Sheepdog Dispatcher.
To fully understand how this system is integrated into Sheepdog’s services, each individual level of protection should be analyzed. Sheepdog provides four levels of services ranging from low risk to high-risk protection: Event Security, Trained Security (Unarmed), Certified Security (Armed), and S.E.R.T. Services. Clients also have the option to purchase a contract dispatcher who can coordinate larger protection operations. So how can you utilize this personal safety app most effectively? If you would like to use the app as a client, whether it be the reporting or the “SOS” option, you must have at least one security officer on site or contracted for a response to your site. All levels of protection can utilize Sheepdog’s reporting and responding system except for Event Security. This is because Event Security is usually involved with large crowds such as concerts, graduation ceremonies, parties, and other mass gatherings. In these situations, Sheepdog discourages officers from utilizing their mobile devices due to the need for strict attention to detail in order to ensure everyone’s safety. Likewise, it is customary to have a responding officer on site working alongside Event Officers. Responding officers consist of Trained Officers (Unarmed), Certified Officers (Armed), and S.E.R.T Agents (Sheepdog Emergency Response Team).
Trained Officers are unarmed officers who have gone through Sheepdog’s extensive training courses. Whereas Certified Officers are those who have additionally gone through the Act 235 State Certification and are legally authorized to carry a firearm while on duty. Both types of officers can be utilized individually for a stationary guard position or a foot patrol. Additionally, they can be utilized with a patrol vehicle or a bicycle. S.E.R.T Agents make up the most elite level of protection offered by Sheepdog. S.E.R.T can be deployed individually for high-risk protection details, executive protection details, or as reinforcement for lower level services (Event, Trained, Certified).
The organizational structure of Sheepdog’s personal safety app, patrol and response were not created overnight. Procedures come from both positive and negative feedback from operations in the past whether short term or long term. As always, Sheepdog wants nothing but the best for our clients who utilize any and all levels of protection.
